The weather is changing, the leaves are turning, the kids are schooling – this can only mean one thing. It’s Fall! Easily Mrs. Soap & Clay’s favorite time of the year, Fall means crisp autumnal strolls, football on the television, stews in the crockpot, and the aromas of pumpkin spice and candied apples wafting from the soap shop. We have four new pie soaps to feature this season – read on to learn all about them!
What it is: Four new, beautifully scented, cute as a button soaps in a fall theme comprise the fall lineup this year. And by “cute as a button”, we mean “they look like pie.” Pie! Each bar has been thoughtfully designed with autumn skin needs in mind and are loaded with extra moisturizing butters and exfoliants.
Why that’s cool: Because, pie! Mrs. Soap & Clay is apparently food obsessed lately (see here and here for reference), so food shaped soaps are a natural progression of said obsession. But the cute shape isn’t all these bars have going for them – they’re all packed with mango and cocoa butter to moisturize Fall skin without sacrificing bubbling power. Two soaps in the line contain exfoliants for some extra buff and glow, and one is made out of whiskey (for an extra…boozey glow?)!
Pumpkin Pie – this is not your ordinary pumpkin spice. Made with pumpkin puree and ground pumpkin seeds for exfoliant, these soaps are grounded with bright ginger and creamy vanilla to make a scent that is warm, sweet, and absolutely delicious. Preferred Sudsers may remember this scent from 2016’s lineup.
Harvest Moon – This soap is foodie in design alone as it does not smell like baked goods. Top notes of juicy blueberries are grounded by a bright spruce scent and will have you looking forward to bonfires and weekend football games in no time. Preferred Sudsers will remember this scent as Sweater Weather from 2016.
Fiery Apple – When candied apples meet fireball candies, things get awesome. When Fireball Whiskey is thrown in the mix, things get crazy. Crazy awesome. This soap is a bit of sweet apple, a bit of spicy cinnamon, and smells good enough to eat. The addition of whiskey to the saponification process yields tight beautiful bubbles that feel almost effervescent on the skin. To put the awesome on full tilt, crushed cranberry seeds were added for exfoliant.
Autumnal Stroll – Another non-foodie scent, this leaf topped beauty pulls its scent from sandalwood and amber glow. This one is ethereal and alluring and sparks images of misty paths covered in freshly fallen leaves while sipping a chai tea. Mrs. Soap & Clay didn’t think she’d ever make a soap she loved more than Sweater Weather until now.

Feel weird about sudsing up with a bar of pie soap? Don’t! Testers have found that the cut of the bar actually makes it easier to grip in the shower, so the ergonomic value is a happy side effect. For those that still feel like taking a piece of pie into the shower is a bit odd, below are some alternate uses of the Fall line.
- decorative soap for autumnal displays
- fancy soap for holiday gatherings
- aromatic paperweight
- odor eliminator for the car
- fun way to trick guests – better LOL yield than plastic fruit
